Event medical cover in Glasgow

Alba EMS is based on West George Street in Glasgow and provides on-site medical teams, ambulances and treatment facilities for events across the city — from park festivals and closed-road races to indoor venues and community galas.

Local provision

A Glasgow base, and a plan built around your site.

Glasgow events rarely look alike. A park event on Glasgow Green, a city-centre road closure and an indoor arena show each create different access problems, different crowd behaviour and different journey times for an ambulance. We plan for the site you actually have, not a generic template.

Our office is at 48 West George Street, Glasgow G2 1BP, so site visits, pre-event meetings and Safety Advisory Group attendance are straightforward. We work alongside your event control, stewarding provider and the local authority so that everyone is using the same medical plan on the day.

Well-specified on-site provision also reduces pressure on the local NHS. Treating patients at the event, where it is clinically appropriate, keeps ambulances available for the wider city, and where escalation is needed we work with NHS ambulance services to direct patients to the right pathway.

FAQs

Arranging event medical cover in Glasgow

How much medical cover does my Glasgow event need?

It depends on crowd size, the type of event, the age profile of your audience, alcohol availability, the venue and how easily an NHS ambulance could reach the site. We carry out a medical risk assessment and recommend a resource level in line with nationally approved standards and recognised industry guidance, rather than selling a fixed package.

Will you attend the Safety Advisory Group meeting?

Yes. We attend local authority Safety Advisory Group (SAG) meetings and provide the medical plan and risk assessment documentation that the SAG, the venue and licensing officers expect to see.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can, particularly for summer weekends when several events run at once. Early contact also gives us time to complete a site visit and feed the medical plan into your wider event documentation.

Can you cover indoor venues as well as parks and streets?

Yes. We deploy static, mobile and off-road teams, so cover can be arranged for indoor venues, city-centre street events, park festivals and closed-road courses.

Do you provide ambulances or just medical staff?

Both. We provide clinical teams on foot and on cycles, road and 4x4 emergency ambulances including blue-light response capability, and mobile or static treatment centres.
